Matt published his book of photographs on the Middle Fork of the Salmon in 2002. Impassable Canyon – Journey Down the Middle Fork of the Salmon is widely appreciated by river enthusiasts throughout the country. He followed up in 2005 with The Middle Fork of the Salmon River – A Comprehensive Guide. This waterproof guide quickly became the gold standard for whitewater guidebooks and is considered by many to be the essential Middle Fork of the Salmon River resource.
